Help us Change
the lives of 500 Women in Rwanda this Year
WomenforWealth.com Foundation for
MicroLending was created by a few Maui Mastermind attendees
who believe in helping women to overcome their poverty and become financially
independent through
education, training and growing sustaining businesses in third world countries.
Through several trips to Rwanda in 2007,
the WFW Foundation Team met Dr. Immaculee, an amazing
female doctor, who runs a local women’s clinic in the capital, Kigali. Dr.
Immaculee, has created a
remarkable program bringing together women who are HIV positive, or exposed to
HIV, and helps
them create small businesses to not only support themselves, but also to bring
self-sufficiency to their
families and their communities.
Our Donations are already changing lives
Within
the six months WFW Foundation has been involved
with Dr. Immaculee’s program, we have already helped
change the lives of 20 women in 2 Full Circles through our
donations. Dr. Immaculee’s loans are $100 and have a
strong training component and a 100% payback rate. In fact,
one woman we supported paid back her loan in 30 days and
changed her family’s life forever. In a country where the
average individual makes less than $300/year,
Victoire
started creating $1200 plus a year within 30 days of training
and starting her business! That means her children will not
only have food to eat, but be able to pay for their school
fees and attend school; they now have hope and a bright future. Talk about
changing the world!
Additionally, Dr. Immaculee’s program
promotes reconciliation among women whose communities were
torn apart by genocide just 14 years ago.
What is a “WFW Full Circle” Team™”
Dr. Immaculee interviews and selects 10
women to form a Full Circle Team. The team members are
required to co-sign for each other to get their loans, and then embark upon a 5
day business and finance
training on how to start a and run a business. Many are illiterate, but they
are required to present a business
plan, verbally. They are taught simple math and reading during the training, as
well as nutrition and how to
open a bank account. Here they come to know and trust each other enough to
assess each member’s ability
to be qualified for their loan. Throughout their program, each member of team
is involved in supporting
other team members as they face the challenges of creating and expanding their
businesses, and rebuilding and
sustaining their lives and families.

A bit more about Micro Lending
Micro Lending is not a new concept. 2006
Noble Peace Prize winner, Muhammad Yunus, founder of
Grameen Bank, has made great strides with Micro-Lending. Research has shown that
recipients have a
pay-back rate of 95-99% on Micro-Loans. This money then re-circulates to other
women and the good
we create through our donations compounds.
